The efforts to downplay the potential of women has been prevailing since time immortal. It is there in the bible, (which was undoubtably written by a man) where the woman is blamed for all the troubles on earth. It is a fact that in almost every field the most succesfull names are that of men. Has anyone tried to figure out why? The answer is simple. Women just let men be!
From the time of birth, it is instilled in boys that to do anything like girls is something beneath them. Boys are supposed to be good in maths and sciences and girls in languages, arts and humanities. Here there is an implied meaning that, on an average girls are less intelligent than boys. What we dont remember is that, it was men who set standards, that to be intelligent, you have to do math and science. Anyone good at humanities and arts is not considered intelligent. I dont understand why their brilliance is not appreciated. I even doubt the fact the girls are'nt as good as boys in science and math. Most girls I know are good at math and science and history and geography and english. On an average it is a fact that girls do well in school, but when it comes to competetive exams, boys do better. I can explain that. It is through competitive exams that entance into professional career paths are gained. Boys are bound to be the primary bread winners in their future and they are under a lot more pressure than girls, to do well in these exams, and hence, on an average, put in a lot more effort than girls.
Now when it comes to careers, women , irrespective of race, country or religion bear the primary responsibility to do the housework and raise children. Career can only come second to family in every woman's life, while that is not the case for men. they have their entire time dedicated to their careers and hence are more successfull. I am not trying to say that women should abandon their families and resort to successfull careers, because the world would come to a crisis scenario then, but I would like everyone to remember, before comparing that a woman has her limitations.

but, i disagree with u that guys get good ranks in competitive exams because they put in lot of effort..
i feel it is partly because gals do mug up! now, again- i do not blame the gals for this.. it is the school u go... generally, if u compare co-educated gals and convent (gals only) educated gals, the latter's way of studying is pathetic! The schools aim is to get the highest marks- so, they are encouraged to mug everythin up! each word by word!!! i do not understand why the nuns do this to the gals..and slowly, tehy would not b aware of how to think!!
but,
soemhow in co-educated schools, they dont have the pri target to get max marks for board exams..they go in for overall development.. as in liek ter r more co-curricular activities- from sports to dance!!
and also, if u notice ..any women's magazine- ter r only details of makeup, latest fashion trends etc.. y is this so?? i agree that women in general do have quiet a lot more interests in their way of dressing etc.. but, is that all we care abt?? wat abt more serious issues?? i agree that it sells.. but, y cant thye jus try puttin some more seriosu articles also! and we shud also start a campaign to ban sops in india which portray women as the future sita..as cry-babies..
ter r also eng sops liek beauty and the geek.. y the hell is that the geek si always the guy!!
wat i mean to say by citing these egs is that the society takes women soo lightly that gals are not even encouraged to have a career..
so, lets try to be teh change!!!
